While this exercise releases good endorphins into your brain, as well as the vitamin D you are getting from the sun if you are swimming in an outdoor pool. And good for their mental health too.

How is Swimming Good for Dogs?
Indeed, just like aerobic exercise is suggested by lots of doctors instead of running, the same goes for dogs. While getting the much-needed exercise they need. And not the hard impact on their joints. Besides toning their muscular system, it is also good for working the respiratory system for you and your dog. Swimming gives a total body workout for both you and your fur baby. It is best to introduce your pet as a youngster. Just like babies, if you start them young, they fear less. As well as make it fun.
Although it is safe for dogs to swim in salt pools, my dogs like their little pool better. I believe it is because they can touch the ground and feel safer. Because I fill the pool with fresh water every time. It helps with the drying of their skin and paws. But I have been moisturizing the paws a little bit more, as I do ours after swimming. We make swimming a family fun thing often. Almost every afternoon. Indeed, after the sun starts to go down and cool off, we go outside and have puppy pool pawty before bed to relieve stress.
Puppy Pool Pawty Exercise Treats (Ice Treats)
One of the best ways to help your fur baby get over the fear of water. Indeed, make it fun with pool toys. Usually, I just throw whatever ball or toy is in the water, like a plastic frog. But in the summer here in Texas, we are on fire. And the water is too hot to play in sometimes. It is also a good way for them to cool off. As well as exercise by chasing the pool toys around the pool. If they are like my Puppy Darla. Then they take out all of the pool toys. And you get your exercise, putting them back into the pool. A Perfect Way to End the Night.
Indeed, you make these as simple as making fun ice for their pool. Or you can add some dog-friendly flavors, like broth, to attract their attention. Most add the pet’s favorite pool toys to the water. Then just freeze them for the Puppy Pool Pawty Exercise. In fact, there are some really cool puppy-ice modes. However, I don’t have any of those. So I just use an old muffin tin. And add all of their goodies to freeze. Or you can go all out for a special Puppy Pool Pawty Exercise. Check out my video below.
Puppy Peanut Butter Bacon Ice Cream
After all of the fun exercises, indeed, it is time to treat ourselves. Although my ice cream is not good for dogs, they get to enjoy themselves too with this dog-safe ice cream recipe. There are several different recipes on the internet that you can use. but I use this one often. While it is pretty cheap and easy to make, you can watch the video below. As well, follow the instructions written below.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 a Ripe Banana: You can pre-mash your banana. Or just mash and mix all the ingredients like I did in my video.
- 1/4 Cup of Peanut Butter: For tummy reasons, it is not suggested to use nutty peanut butter. I used cream. But you can use whipped cream—no nuts! And natural peanut butter.
- 16 ounces of plain yogurt: I always use Greek. I think it is healthier for us humans too (just my opinion). I don’t think you have to use Greek. Just Sugar-Free.
- Bacon: There is no set amount. Add as much as you want to maintain your consistency. But I am a country girl. And I like my bacon. So, the dogs only get a few pieces of fried bacon in their ice cream.
- Beef Tips: These are optional. Indeed, you can use any of their favorite treats. I formed mine into smiley faces. And added 1 to hold on to (edible stick).
However, when you make your puppy ice cream. Don’t make my mistake, and do not pay attention to the knife spinning on the cutting board. As you can see in my video above, I could have gotten seriously hurt.
